LiveCitizen is a community of outspoken citizens who voice their opinions on an array of political topics, current events and public affairs. It's not just chatter, but a microblogging platform for discussing and debating the entire spectrum of ideas and attitudes that shape and influence the world around us.
LiveCitizen encourages users to not just post their opinions, but to share well thought out "Quotes" as a basis for sparking an inevitable debate.
There are a few features that are unique to LiveCitizen to really encourage discussions and have dynamic dialogues.
• Every user must make a declaration of their political leaning by selecting either red (conservative), white (moderate), or blue (liberal). This color is known only to the user and plays an important part in the concept of livecitizen.
• In addition to adding "friends" to be updated of their activity, "foes" can also be added for users to actively engage in debating with users whose quotes and comments they can expect to disagree with.
• Users' activities, such as agreeing/disagreeing with a quote or requoting, are calculated and shown as a colored "meter" on profiles indicating the leanings of that particular user despite their initial color declaration. For example, maybe you thought you were red, but your activity may show your leanings are blue.
We know how capable you citizens are of expressing your points of view and we also know how much of these thoughts and ideas can educate or irritate. And that's the point.
So, tell us, where do you stand?
